Hello all!
So maybe you noticed I didn't update last week. Maybe you were relieved to not have to hear about all the wonderful pies set out to tempt you into doing something against your waning New Year's resolutions. Maybe not. Last week I waited for Key Limes, that most holy of all citrus, but my fresh crate of the wonderful fruit arrived late last Friday. So no email. No time to warn y'all.
Again this week I waited, because I know I'm not the only one who adores this perfect little ball of limey wonder, I've ordered another crate. Fresh. Direct from Central Florida. And it arrived this afternoon. Just. In. Time.
So this week the Key Lime pie reappears. This is somewhat special for me. One, because it is the pie that launched Cutie Pies, and the other because it is simply my favorite. Everyone asks which of my massive pie menu has my undivided attention, and it is, after all the crazy concoctions, this feat of simplicity.
Key Limes come into perfect ripeness at the end of February. They signal the end of winter, the coming spring and the wheel of our year starting all over again. The Key Lime pie was created to simulate sunshine in your mouth, to bring the first warm glow of warmth that will lead a summer kiss of sun.
Yes, I get a bit romantic about Key Limes. They are one of our perfect fruits.
I will also have this week a wonderful, flirty little pie called Cranrazzle Cream, a Cranberry, Raspberry Cream that is simply divine.
Both will be at the Winter Farmers Market at the Hope Artist Village this Saturday, you can find directions here.
We'll also be delivering Key Limes ALL WEEK LONG. There is no limit on this one, just make sure you give us a 24 hours before you'd like delivery. We've got one last crate on the way, so there should be no problem accommodating everyone. Keep in mind because of the graham cracker crust, this pie cannot be done in small form, so whole pies only.
Special Diets: Both pies can be done gluten free. Neither can be lactose intolerant OR vegan OR diabetic. I know this puts a cramp in some sides, but if you need a delivery this week for a special occasion, give a shout, we'll see if there's anything else in my goody bag for you.
That said, I hope everyone is having a wonderful week, and a very happy end of February to you all. Here's hoping for spring and a little sun!

Chocolate Lavender and Orange Buttercream
Happy New Year, y'all!!
Yes, it is your long lost Cutie Pie maker, only so because we've been up to our
elbows in work over here and are now getting the email/blog postings back up.
That said, let's get to the pies of the week! This week I'm serving up an
exciting pie, a flavor so old it is new again, Chocolate Lavender! Yes, not only
can you eat lavender, but it is down right good. This stuff isn't just for soap,
y'know.
We start off with a rich, dark chocolate and meld it with the most beautiful
organic, culinary quality lavender. The result is something that is sweet and
chocolaty on the front end with only a hint of that warm fragrant lavender, but
builds into a heady taste that almost overwhelms, but not quite. Cooking with
lavender has been a long time favorite of mine, and I thought y'all would
appreciate something completely different and unexpected.
Our other flavor this week is one I've done before, but keep getting requests
for. I can't hold back when there's so many requests, so I've brought back the
Orange Buttercream Dream. For those of y'all that haven't had it yet, think a
Creamsicle in a pie. This lovely little custard will warm you up from the inside
on a cold winter day, thoughts of the tropics float through your head and
suddenly it doesn't feel like snow at all.
Both these pies can be done gluten free, but neither are lactose intolerant,
sugar free or vegan. I'm sorry.
If you have a special request for any pie, just give a shout or email and we'll
get whatever you like to you. All orders for delivery must be in by Wednesday
the 14th and delivery is at your convenience.
You can also come to the Hope Artiste Village in Pawtucket for the Winter
Market. That is every Saturday (tomorrow) between 11-2. Lots of great vendors
and excellent products. And pie! Check out the website for directions and
information.
Finally, let me say, my hope is everyone had an excellent holiday a great New
Year and wish for an even better year to come. That has been my own personal
holiday wish for everyone and the only thing I wanted this year. And also to
thank all y'all for making this a great holiday season for Cutie Pies. I'm
truly, completely grateful.

Dutch Apple and 'Nog Pie
Hey all!
Long time, no mail. The Thanksgiving holiday was a long wonderful one for Cutie Pies, lots of work but lots of fun. Hope everyone had a great time and that no awful movie family dramas popped up.
That said, I'm happy to announce the Winter Market opening this Saturday from 11-2. It will be at the Hope Artiste Village 1005 Main St. in Pawtucket. A nice, indoor, warm market full of apples, wonderful cheese, aquaculture, bread, coffee and, of course, pie! You can check it out here.
Our pies of the week, which can be gotten at the Market, The Blue Elephant and for delivery, are two holiday classics:
Dutch Apple Pie, beautifully sugared Granny Smith apples baked in a delightful crumble. This is, in fact, taking the place of the Apple Ribbon on our holiday menu.
The other, also on our holiday menu and also a classic is Eggnog pie. Yes, Eggnog, made the same as eggnog, but baked in a lovely pie. The one we'll have at the market is a virgin 'nog, but we can and will add rum on request.
For delivery, just give a call. Being the holidays we'll be doing delivery every day until January 3rd. If there's any questions, comments or holiday orders, just give a shout. All holiday orders do need to be in before Dec. 20th. I'll mail out the full menu on Monday.
Thanks so much and hope to see you at the market!
