Hey all! In case no one's heard, Cutie Pies recently won Best Pie in all of Rhode Island from the RI Monthly. Awesome, right? We're very excited over here and going to do our best to keep living up to this great honor.
So this week! We're going to be at Burnside Park, downtown Providence this Friday from 11-2 with the Downtown Farmer's Market.
We'll have some fresh Blueberry Pie and Baked Chocolate Pie. We'll also have Cutie Quiche, Pecan Cinnamon Rolls, Cornbread and Jalapeno Cornbread.
On Saturday we'll be at the Jamaican Independence Fest from 10-10. The fest is going to be located on Prairie Ave. in Downtown Providence. There's going to be great music, food, art and lots of fun.
At this fest we'll have some of the Friday flavors but also our Banana's Foster, that delicious concoction of bananas, rum and brown sugar, sauteed in a little butter and baked into a soft, vanilla custard.
We'll also have our Sweet Guinness Pie. I've recently discovered that Jamaicans love Guinness. So it makes sense they'd love my Guinness Pie. So dig it, it's a sweet Guinness custard with a dark layer of chocolate on top. Yes, this is one of my crazy flavors, but a very loved one.
So c'mon out and see us, grab some pie and enjoy the market and festival. If you need anything at all in the interim, give a shout! We'll deliver or take care of you in any way we can.

Thanks for the love, 'Lil Rhody
Hey all!! Quickly, let me apologize for not updating maybe as much as I have. Why? Well.... weather, a little lack of inspiration. Not sure. I do know our weeks have been very hectic and it's been a stretch. But thank you for hanging in with me and checking out the blog. I appreciate it.
What I also appropriate, and am very humbled by, is the fact that tonight Cutie Pies won Best Pie in Rhode Island, courtesy of Rhode Island Monthly. I'm shocked and very proud. As such a small company, just one and a half people, we've tried very hard to put forth a good product and make as many people happy as possible. Might be heading in the right direction.
That said, we'll not be at this week's downtown farmer's market. We'll be back next week, so let me update the flavors right now: We've got Lemon Blueberry Pop, a sweet and tart lemon filling with whole ripe blueberries covered in home made pop rocks swirled in. If you haven't had this pie or have never heard of anything like it, this is a Cutie Pie original and will completely knock your socks off!
We've also got classic American Blueberry, made with Maine berries direct from Stut Berry Farm. When working a classic no one does it quite like us.
There's also a little Baked Chocolate Mint on the menu, crispy chocolate on the outside, gooey minty chocolate on the inside. Yum!
And last, Tart Lemon Zing. You've had a lemon meringue, this is close, but even, dare I say it? Better.
We'll also have our now famous Pecan Cinnamon Rolls on hand, as well as some fresh Cracked Cornbread (and why not a little Jalapeno Cornbread while I'm at it?) and a little Cutie Quiche.
Will see y'all next Friday, and thanks for all the love, 'Lil Rhody. I'm really starting to feel at home.

Lemon Blueberry Pop and Chocolate Strawberry Frenzy
Hey y'all!!
Sorry for the late update this week, we weren't sure if we'd get the right kind (fresh/organic) blueberries in to do what I wanted to do. But did they come in!! Not many of them, but enough to really sock it to ya.
So this week we've got one repeat flavor and one new. The repeat is my Lemon Blueberry Pop! This is a lemon filling, much like a lemon mirange, but so fierce it'll suck your head inside out. Inside the gel are bunches of uncooked blueberries. The result? They explode in your mouth. Literally. I'd explain the chemistry, but like to simply say it's magic and leave it at that. This is one of our more popular flavors, so I had to bring it back in time for blueberries.
If that isn't quite your cup of tea, or you'd simply like some chocolate, we've got the Chocolate Strawberry Frenzy. This is a creamy chocolate (think more pudding than custard) fused with strawberries and with large, fresh strawberry chunks. Delishious!
Along with our Cutie Quiche and Pecan Cinnamon Rolls, which have both been smash hits, we're also introducing Banana Bread (with and without walnuts) and Cornbread. Now... Cornbread is something near and dear to my heart. Like most simple foods a lot of folks don't quite do it right. Too much fooling with simplicity makes it just mush. That said we'll have a simple, sweet Cornbread as well as a Jalapeno Cornbread.
We'll be over at Lippitt Park this Saturday, as we have the last few. Lippitt Park is the big park right next to Blackstone Blvd. While our usual hours are from 10-4, keep in mind that Farm Fresh and the Hope High Farmer's Market are going to be in Lippitt Park as well. They start a little earlier, so then, will I. Go get your veggies and come on over for dessert (or breakfast if you'd like a Cinnamon Roll). No more delivery orders for this week, we're full up.
Hope everyone's have a great week and enjoying some of this beautiful weather! Congrats to Lynn and Paul on their upcoming wedding (very good customers, completely belong together) and we'll see y'all at the park!

Sue's Honey Dipped Ricotta, Banana's Foster and Spicy Pineapple Chocolate
Hello there, y'all!
Alright, last week at Lippitt Park's Open Market was AMAZING! Not only did everyone show up, but the quality of vendors really blew me away. Nice day all the way around, even though there was some drizzle in the morning. This Saturday should be even better, and there is no predicted rain. (Knock on wood here, guys.)
This week we've got three pies for ya. First is our Banana's Foster. I did this a little while back and it was such a hit there wasn't even time to announce it, just flew off the shelves! This is bananas flambeed in rum and brown sugar, then baked into a vanilla pie. Outstanding, you'll never have better. And not as messy as a traditional Foster.
Next up is the Spicy Pineapple Chocolate. Yes, I did do this last week. The thing is there just weren't enough, and it's been requested again by a whole lot of folks, so here it is: Lightly spiced fresh pineapple in a creamy, dark chocolate filling. Might sound unusual, but most of my very unusual pies are the best.
Last pie is very special to me. This is called Sue's Honey Dipped Ricotta. This is a sweet ricotta pie, very traditional, very Rhode Island, but has honey dipped strawberries sprinkled throughout and baked in. Sweet, natural, made with the best ricotta (Narragansett Creamery), local honey and fresh berries from one of my best friend's organic greenhouse.
This pie is named and designed after Susan O'Connell, a good friend of mine and one of the best local ladies I know. I wanted something traditional to Rhode Island (Sweet Ricotta), because she's from here. Everything had to be local (unlike bananas) because Sue is the best of what's local to this state. She's a little shy, but once you open her up, boy howdy! She's also very no nonsense and clear cut in her opinions and world view, but is willing to listen to everyone's point. This is unusal. Susan is fresh, like a good strawberry, bright, warm and a perfect heart inside. Sue, indeed, has a heart so big you could see it from space. This is my warm, sun soaked (honey), funny, twisted friend. And I hope y'all enjoy her pie, because if Sue were a pie, this would be it.
And last, this week we'll be carrying two kinds of Cutie Quiche (not sure what they are until tomorrow), but will say we sold out of them pretty instantly. So get there early!
Same for the Pecan Cinnamon Rolls, so good they were out the door within a half hour!
We will be introducing other things this week if time permits... can I ask y'all to look for Bagels? If not this week, next. No deliveries this week, we've been slammed. Hope everyone has a great weekend, and we'll see you at the park!!

New Market! This Saturday!!
Hey all!!
This is a quick update to let y'all know what we're up to. We've got a new Market, the Open Market at Lippitt Park, starting this Saturday from 10-4. We'll be there with bells on, and, if you don't have any big plans for Memorial day weekend, so will you!
Lippitt Park is that big park right next to Blackstone Blvd. There will be boutique food producers like myself, as well as lots of arts, crafts, antiques and vintage items. For exact directions and details, check out the website!
As to pie flavors, we're dong some different stuff this week. Along with our American Apple (double crusted classic) we'll be having a Vanilla Blueberry Buckshot (vanilla custard shot with fresh blueberries) and our Chocolate Pineapple (which is just like it sounds).
Three flavors, you ask? Yes. We're trying to open up a little more and expand, not just in amount, but in product!
It gives me great pleasure to announce that we'll also have Cutie Quiche on hand, single sized quiches, just in time for summer.
We'll also have my world famous Pecan Cinnamon rolls. You've never had a roll quite like this one.
As the weeks go on you'll be seeing a little more from us. While pie is our staple and always will be, it's time to start wowing y'all with everything we can do. Start looking for cornbreads, Baby Cakes and Ginger Spoons. If something goes well, we'll keep it on the menu.
If there's anything you'd like delivered or held back for you on Saturday, let me know soon as you can. Hope everyone's doing good and here's looking for a great summer!
